Missed or “Did Not Attend” Appointments

In the last year over 2100 appointments were booked but not attended.

This is over 360 hours or over 15 days worth of appointments.

Please do make sure that you attend your appointment and if you are not able to make it, please let us know so that the appointment can be used by someone else.

‘Did not attend’ Appointments

It is extremely important that you cancel or rebook any appointments that you cannot attend, ideally 24 hours or more in advance, so that other patients can use these appointments.  However, even just giving us a few hours’ notice will still be valuable to other patients who may need to be seen.

The effect of not attending appointments:

  • An increase in the waiting time for appointments for other patients

  • Frustration for both staff and patients

  • A waste of resources

Nationally, more than 300,000 GP appointments are missed every week which costs the NHS around £300 million every year.

Our DNA Policy

You may not be aware of our three time DNA policy.  This means that if you do not attend or cancel three appointments within one year without reason, we will need to remove you from our registered patient list.

If you register for our online services with our reception team, you can manage your appointments online.

Our Late Policy

A quick reminder about our late policy which means that if you are any more than 10 minutes late arriving for your appointment, you would need to rebook your appointment.

Once again, we understand that there may be some circumstances which have prevented you from attending your appointment so please do contact us to discuss this if you wish.

Please ensure you rebook your appointment if you still require one.

If you would like to discuss, cancel or amend an appointment please contact reception on 0207 487 5244.
